chevron oronite singapore manufacturing plant wins the “excellence in energy, greenhouse gas management” award

SAN RAMON, Calif., October 4, 2023 – Chevron Oronite is delighted to announce that its lubricant additives manufacturing site in Singapore has won the “Excellence in Energy, Greenhouse Gas Management” award at the Energy Efficiency National Partnership (EENP) Awards presented by Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) for its efforts to lower carbon intensity of operations and energy management.

The EENP Awards recognize local companies and organizations that have adopted a proactive approach towards better energy management. The “Excellence in Energy, Greenhouse Gas Management” award recognized companies that can demonstrate sustained improvement in energy performance and reduction in carbon intensity of their plant through a company-wide energy policy and program.

As part of Chevron’s vision to advance a lower carbon future, Oronite is committed to helping Chevron achieve its lower carbon aspirations and targets. The Singapore Manufacturing Plant (SMP) completed about 30 energy improvement and lowering carbon intensity projects from 2019 to 2022. As a result, these projects have a cumulative energy savings of about 4.5% of SMP’s annual energy usage and a carbon abatement of 3700 tonnes of CO2e. One notable lower carbon project is the utilization of rooftop spaces above buildings to install 275 solar panels to generate 170,000 kWh of electrical energy annually and 70 tonnes CO2e of carbon abatement annually.

“We aim to cultivate a culture that values energy efficient solutions,” said Keng Yang Lim, general manager, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Asia Pacific Region, Chevron Oronite. “This award is an important testament of Chevron Oronite’s work towards lowering the carbon intensity of our operations.”
