chevron oronite begins construction of new
warehouse at Gonfreville l’Orcher
SAN RAMON, Calif., March 26, 2024 – Chevron Oronite is pleased to announce the construction of a new warehouse at its Gonfreville l’Orcher Manufacturing Plant (France). This building will store drums and intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and will be automated and equipped with the latest advances in warehousing and logistics. Completion of the facility is expected in late 2024.
“The construction of this new warehouse in France is an important addition to our manufacturing capabilities,” stated Brett Cooley, vice-president of Manufacturing and Supply, Chevron Oronite. “It demonstrates our continued commitment to supply quality products safely and reliably, while also enhancing value for our customers.”
Laurent Jumelle, general manager of Sales and Marketing, Europe Africa Middle East, Chevron Oronite expanded on the enhanced customer benefits that the new warehouse will provide. As Jumelle explains, “With this new warehouse and its state-of-the-art automation system, we will be able to deliver products faster and more efficiently, leveraging an accurate inventory management system to provide rapid response to customer orders.”
This new warehouse will be one of the first to comply with latest French environmental and safety regulations recently heightened following specific industry events. “Operational Excellence is Chevron Oronite’s top priority, and this project will allow us to meet the latest regulatory requirements in the field of fire protection, while integrating one of the most advanced digital technologies in terms of automation and logistics flow management,” concluded Olivier Clavaud, general manager of Manufacturing and Supply, Europe Africa Middle East, Chevron Oronite.
