Chevron Oronite is prepared to meet ILSAC GF-7 specifications

SAN RAMON, Calif., May 24, 2023– Chevron Oronite is prepared to meet the recently announced ILSAC GF-7 specifications.  Oronite has been actively involved in industry discussions over the last few months that led to an accelerated implementation of the category, with an expected first licensing date of early 2025.

“Oronite’s strong formulating knowledge and product development experience as well as learnings from previous category changes have us well positioned to meet the GF-7 specifications,” said Laura Boudreau, vice-president, Global Technology, Chevron Oronite.  One of the most important priorities of the new ILSAC GF-7 category is to help deliver improved fuel economy in addition to tangible benefits for OEMs and consumers, such as better protection against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI), piston deposits, and timing chain wear.

As a global leader in passenger car motor oil additives, Oronite will offer a range of flexible solutions to help its customers prepare for the implementation of the new GF-7 category. “Once again Oronite’s PCFlex ADDvantage® approach will benefit our customers as we leverage our innovative technology, exceptional reliability and enduring relationships to deliver value,” said Emmanuelle Faure-Birchem, global product line manager, Automotive Engine Oils, Chevron Oronite.
